Griswold, Connecticut — A 17-year-old teen was arrested for driving under the influence this weekend following a crash on Glasgo Road in Griswold.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning, when authorities say a 17-year-old lost control of his vehicle and drifted off the road, crashing into a mailbox and coming to a stop against a small boulder on Glasgo Road.
The teen then fled the scene of the incident but had to stop due to mechanical issues with his car. At around 3:20 p.m., a witness reported a disabled vehicle on Glasgo Road and when authorities arrived at the scene, they suspected alcohol use.
An investigation revealed the teen was in fact intoxicated and he was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the DUI accident. Since he is a minor, police have not released the name of the driver.
