GREAT FALLS – A woman from Great Falls was arrested for felony DUI after her daughter jumped out of the car and told a cashier at a convenience store that her mother was intoxicated.
The driver’s 9-year-old girl noticed her mother was drunk and fearing for her safety as well as her mother’s, got out of the car and ran to a cashier in a nearby convenience store for help.
The cashier then called police and when authorities arrived, the young girl pointed out her mother’s car, which was parked close by.
Officers arrested 47-year-old Chari L. Littledog for suspicion of DUI after she refused to perform field sobriety tests. Preliminary tests revealed Littledog’s blood-alcohol level was 0.267 percent, over than three times the legal limit of .08 percent.
Authorities said Littledog admitted to having consumed an 18-pack of beer. The child also told police her mother crashed into another vehicle in downtown Great Falls.
The offender’s bail has been set at $5,000. Littledog already has three prior DUI convictions. If she posts bail, she will be required to wear a scram bracelet.
