A DUI, or driving under the influence charge, can have terrible consequences for those who are convicted. If found guilty, motorists may lose their license, be ordered to perform community service, be required to install an ignition interlock device in their vehicle, or worst of all, be sent to jail. DUI convictions can also cause a driver to lose their job, prevent them from getting a new one, and can even hinder their civil rights. If you have received a DUI ticket, it is not too late to fight it. Contact a DUI lawyer in your area immediately for assistance.

What many people don’t realize is that they have rights when they are stopped for suspicion of intoxication. Many motorists succumb to breathalyzer or field sobriety tests when in many states, they can be refused. When you work with a DUI attorney, they will investigate the incident and determine if any of your rights were violated. If so, your paralegal will see to it that your charges are lowered or completely dropped.

While DUI charges can be contested, there is only a small window of opportunity to do so, usually lasting about two weeks. If you wait longer to contact a DUI lawyer following your arrest, you may forfeit your right to fight the charges in court. Don’t let this happen to you; turn to an acclaimed team of DUI attorneys immediately to ensure your rights are upheld.
